. upper 50s yesterday, to lower 60s. everybody up a little bit for today. santa rosa, up to 64 degrees. san jose, instead of the 50s we'll warm you back to the lower 60s. that's after a pretty chilly start this morning. fairfield right now, 36 degrees. santa rosa, 36. san francisco, 47. and hayward reporting 43 degrees with mostly clear skies. for this morning, we're showing you the cold numbers here, the dark colors, 30s and 40s. we'll put this into motion. you will see a nice recovery here. upper 50s hucking the coastline -- hugging the coastline. concord, livermore, fremont, down to san jose, morgan hill and gilroy. here's the big perspective. you will notice the clouds, they are arcing up to the north as high pressure is strengthening offshore. with that it pushes all of the storms. we have a dry weather pattern for today and also right on through the weekend. 8:00 this morning, upper 30s to the upper 40s. by 12:00, you will see this, 53 to 58. during the afternoon you hours by 3:00 for afternoon highs. 53 to 63 degrees under mostly sunny skies. everybody up a few degrees from yest

. the highs today, 69 in santa rosa. 64 in san rafael. our warmest temperature down in the south bay with 71 in santa teresa after those offshore winds started to develop today, that's 71 degrees is now one of the warmest days we have had in over two months. that official high coming from steve hall says thank you so much. now a look outside of our live skyc camera network. under very mild and unusual weather for this time of the year, not going to cause any problems at the airports or on the road. once again, dry forecast here the next couple of days. also to the bay bridge those lights are very, very bright tonight. we'll have visibility at ten miles and/or better. so here is the deal. high pressure sitting offshore. that will continue the sinking air that's very, very warm for this time of the year and also giving us this slight offshore flow. so that will keep us clear for the morning hours. 30s and 40s. and then as we head throughout the afternoon, temperatures in the 60s and even a few low 70s expected. for tomorrow morning, by the 8:00 a.m. hour, most of us will be in the mid to upper

coming up. 68 in santa rosa, 67 in san rafael. cooler back in the east bay after that the cold start with 63 in concord, 26 in livermore. quite a bit warmer down in the south bay. we got in on the 70s like dil gilroy at 72. feels more like late april and early may. santa cruz at 71. san jose at 6 and los gatos in the mid 60s. a few other spots that did reach into the 70s, we had scotts valley at 71, then you had cupertino at 70. san jose upper 60s. i want to put a pause on things for a moment. take a look at january winter extremes. anything unlike january should feel like here. throughout the entire month, the south bay has only had seven days of rain .69. we should have 2.081. with so much clear weather, the north bay has been stuck in the freezer. 16 days at or below 32 degrees and the average low is 37. at the coastline, this is where we put the wild twist on things. .at the coastline light offshore winds, that's where we had six days at 70 degrees and or above throughout santa cruz. outside of the sky camera network, there's the haze. the poor air quality we're under in the sant

is not great in livermore or santa rosa but improving in napa. novato is up to ten miles. you are half a mile just an hour ago. you will see it is improving around the airport and hayward. san jose has clouds at eight miles visibility. with the cooler air and the trough that is swinging through, we had another system that went through earlier, and numbers are cooler especially at coast, nine degrees cooler this morning with five degrees cooler in livermore, so there is milder mornings are a thing of the past going tomorrow morning where it will be much, much cooler. areas of fog still this morning mainly in our east bay, turning cooler with breezy northwest winds along the shoreline and a cool dry pattern into next week as we begin february with no rain, at all, right on through the super bowl. here is a look at our satellite and radar combination composite, you will notice we had all the moisture yesterday that is lifting up, but, city, showers around santa monica and the dessert but our attention is focused to the north and west, with a few sprinkles and a weak cold front continues to sink

through that today as much as 9 degrees above average in santa rosa, 63 in san francisco and 66 degrees and sunny in san jose. more on your weather coming up. right now let's check on the roads with elizabeth. >> we have been following a big rig accidents for three hours northbound 101 coming into sunnyvale. traffic, if chopper 5 can zoom back, is stacked up into santa clara. the backups continue to grow. two lanes are blocked, blocked since about 2:50 a.m. that's when that accident first was reported. the problem is, there was some damage to the guardrail. 30 gallons of fuel spilled right there approaching that fair oaks avenue exit. wood debris all over. so there's a lot of clean-up going on. no major injuries but again that is what it looks like if you are behind this mess on 101 so don't get caught in this. use 280 free and clear right now. highway 85. also caltrain another great option and so far everything is rolling along all trains on time. let get a quick look at the bay bridge toll plaza. no metering lights yet. this is just your usual pa

know on the hayward side there's fog. concord, livermore, napa, santa rosa. yesterday, it was the north bay. patchy fog but hazy and warm. mostly sunny. higher clouds. next rain, thursday, friday. next thursday, friday. although it's looking more like a colder system than a rainy system. we need the rain. if you thought where is the breeze, there has not been much. others in the east bay, have a pretty good offshore wind continuing. that for shom the offshore breeze is in place. that means the coast has really nice weather. temperatures on the lows are even warmer that morning than yesterday it will be sunny. mostly cloudy. there's some higher clouds. i think most of those day towards more central california. 30s for some. 49. redwood city, san rafael is at 41. livermore is 32. so some of those higher clouds to the south, the forecast model picks up on it a little bit. mainly about san jose south and then the fog will fall apart. there will be some but then it will go away. today, a challengey start. hazy sunshine. highs, 7 in clearlake. 70 in gilroy. sonoma is in there. st. helena warm

. concord 62. oakland 62. upper 60s today. mid-50s in livermore, san francisco, san jose and santa rosa. we are trending a degree or two milder in the evening temperatures each day. pay no attention to the green you see down toward 101 and 280. that's some ground clutter. cbs 5 hi-def doppler is completely and utterly dry as we wrap up january. you will start february tomorrow morning on the chilly note again. concord, livermore, 38. fremont down to 41. 46 for pacifica, san francisco 47. not too abnormal but just your heater will likely turn over a couple times tonight and early tomorrow. this is the satellite and radar review. i want to show you that there is a lot of activity out there. we have a lot of stuff going on but all of the moisture that's moving in from the west pretty big storm right there basically hits a wall in the atmosphere. that wall is a dome of high pressure. winds flow: 00 wise around high pressure so once it hits the wall it gets transported north and ends up in places like washington, british columbia, oregon, not the bay are

a little bit more fog this morning. santa rosa, napa, concord, livermore. saw north bay and east bay. over all it's another nice day on tap here. similar to what we had yesterday. i'm kind of happy here. although it's showing up for a little too long. we could use rain now. it's been quiet for four year weeks. sunny and warm weather. highs 60s low for some to 70 for others. mostly sunny. there will be higher clouds coming in. i think most of that will be san jose south. no big deal. there will be some. 30s and 40s to almost 50- degrees in san francisco. antioch 31. livermore 36 but not far away. you can find a little bit of fog and temperatures in the 40s. it just depends. higher clouds coming up to the southwest are taking an aim to central and southern california. i know it's a reach but just letting you know. sunny and warm. a little bit more fog this morning. hazy skies. 60s mid to upper. a little bit warmer. santa cruz 70 degrees. get that friday flu head over there. livermore 63. san mateo 64. and mountain view at 66. mostly sunny. hazy skies. a little bit of high clouds. that is it.

cold temperatures. we're getting down there. 42 in santa rosa, 49, san francisco, 50, half moon bay. fairfield, 45. here's a look at the forecast. we'll go with a cold night overnight, and then a chance of maybe a few sprinkles, mainly the highest rain near the coastw cool and windy for sunday and then we'll start to warm things up-especially as we head into the mid and latter part of next week. once the sfo reporting woken gusts up to 26 miles-per-hour inch the north bay winds have started to calm down, and then we'll look at temperatures in the 30s. you'll notice the forecast is picking up a few light sprinkles, mainly the higher terrain, and it's all coming from an upper level low. you can see it right here. some of the speckley clouds, the cold air, and you can see the light activity, all of this will spread south overnight tonight. going to move quickly. by tomorrow mid-day we should be back out into plenty of sunshine. cold front moves through today. now we're on the back side of it. that's why the winds came in, cooling us off by some 12 degrees from this time yesterday. bu

tonight and also cold temperatures. we're getting down there. 42 in santa rosa, 49, san francisco, 50, half moon bay. fairfield, 45. here's a look at the forecast. we'll go with a cold night overnight, and then a chance of maybe a few sprinkles, mainly the highest rain near the coast. cool and windy for sunday and then we'll start to warm things up-especially as we head into the mid and latter part of next week. once the sfo reporting woken gusts up to 26 miles-per-hour inch the north bay winds have started to calm down, and then we'll look at temperatures in the 30s. you'll notice the forecast is picking up a few light sprinkles, mainly the higher terrain, and it's all coming from an upper level low. you can see it right here. some of the speckley clouds, the cold air, and you can see the light activity, all of this will spread south overnight tonight. going to move quickly. by tomorrow mid-day we should be back out into plenty of sunshine. cold front moves through today. now we're on the back side of it. that's why the winds came in, cooling us off by some 12 degrees from this tim

morning, san francisco, 46 for you and temperatures dropping in santa rosa. 43 san jose and 46 redwood city. along the monterey bay we are looking at 48 santa cruz and 49 monterey. here's the 15 degrees of cooling compared to 24 hours ago in napa. five degrees cooler downtown and even in the valley, livermore 9 degrees cooler and santa clara 8 degrees cooler. so you felt it last night, the dewpoints are cloweer. the sprinkles perhaps on the peninsula, san benito county and monterey as the trough sweeps through. it's also trying big 12 in the cool air. winds out of the northwest again today and the warmer air heads our way by the middle of the week. but today compliments of this area of low pressure, we've got some sierra snow flying, up to 6 inches in parts of the mountains. but with very little moisture in place it's not going to%squeeze out much. in fact, most of the moisture is running parallel along the coast. so cooler air in place and here's a look at our computer animation. that's about it. a few clouds around. maybe a sprinkle. taking you through the rest of the afternoon and y
